This year, the Grand Rapids Public Museum's Van Andel Museum Center will once again open as an outdoor venue only, and will curate a rewarding exhibit experience with approachable art that is intriguing and distinctive. Pieces will be installed on the grounds near the Grand River, and the front and back lawn. Food carts will be stationed accordingly to make it easy for visitors to grab a quick bite or beverage while on the move!
The museum will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily (Mon-Sun) during ArtPrize (Sept. 18 - October 6, 2013) with HALF OFF general admission rates!
Saturday, September 28 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. This sublime moonlit event will feature a fantastic procession of hand-made illuminated sculptures carried by dancing teams of merrymakers as they thread their way through downtown Grand Rapids. An afterglow party with a DJ, beer and food will follow at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
The Museum is once again partnering with SiTE:LAB for an ArtPrize installation at the museum’s facility at 54 Jefferson. SiTE:LAB curated the space at 54 Jefferson during ArtPrize 2012 and won four of six juried awards, including the venue prize.
