Grand Rapids Public Museum

The annual family-friendly fundraiser Night at Your Museum returns Thursday, December 27 from 6 to 9 pm.

Based on the 2006 and 2009 movies, Grand Rapids Public Museum's Night at Your Museum will include Medieval knights duelling with swords, Native American performances of ceremonial dances in full regalia, and Civil War soldiers reenacting skirmishes.  The Spillman Carousel will whirl to life throughout the evening, and guests can catch one of six scheduled planetarium shows.  

Guests will receive a souvenir flashlight and honorary security guard badge upon admittance to the dimly-lit museum. Visitors will then become part of the drama that unfolds as characters from the exhibits come to life on all three floors of the museum. 

Tickets are $20 per person, and include dinner. Proceeds benefit programs and exhibitions at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Get you ticket early, as this event often is a sell out!

Dinner menu:

• Wisconsin Mac & Cheese – A blend of cheddar and jack cheeses, cream, elbow macaroni – Noodles & Company’s number one seller!
• Pesto Cavatappi with chicken – Curly pasta, basil pesto, garlic, mushrooms, tomato, wine, cream, parmesan and Italian parsley.
• The Med Salad – Romaine, mixed greens, tomato, cucumbers, red onion, olives, cavatappi pasta, spicy yogurt dressing, and feta.
• Caesar Salad – Romaine, house made croutons, traditional dressing and parmesan.
• Flatbread

This year, members will have the opportunity to prepay for their parking, reserve spaces for quick and easy (and close!) parking, early admittance, fast check-in, Dinner with the Queen, and the first choice of Planetarium shows.

• Steak Stroganoff – Marinated steak, mushroom sherry cream sauce, fresh herbs, cracked pepper, sautéed mushrooms, egg noodles and parmesan.

• Add our peppery pulled pork, crispy onions, and BBQ sauce if you wish!

• Penne Rosa – Spicy tomato cream sauce, penne pasta, mushrooms, tomato, spinach, wine, and parmesan.
